Other Fashion School Projects
Cape Town
A collection of selected projects from my undergraduate studies at Fedisa Fashion School, where I placed in the Top 10 each year. Included are links to Fedisa’s end-of-year showcase videos featuring my highlighted garments, including the Floral Dream Dress, which was later featured in Selin Magazine.
Floral dream dress (2021)
The Floral Dream Dress was one of the standout pieces from my undergraduate portfolio—a romantic, voluminous silhouette brought to life through layers of soft florals and dreamy textures. Inspired by the idea of clothing as fantasy and comfort, the dress balances whimsy with structure, inviting the wearer to feel both powerful and playful.
It was selected as one of Fedisa’s Top 10 garments and featured in the school’s end-of-year showcase video. The dress was later published in Selin Magazine, photographed by Jesse Claasen against a striking backdrop: my sister’s graduate fine art piece made from worn, discarded underpants.

Concept Denim (2022)
This look was created using donated leftover denim from Relay Jeans. I bleached stripes into the fabric and over-dyed it in green, experimenting with texture and tone. The utility vest features a pocket detail made using hapa-zome, a natural dye technique that involves hammering fresh leaves and flowers into the fabric to transfer their pigment.

Denim Daze (2021)
This was another project using denim donated to our school, where we were tasked with designing directly onto the fabric. I created a series of wavy circles across the denim using a tight zigzag stitch—turning texture into pattern and adding depth through stitched surface design.

Style Lab (2021)
This was my end-of-year project in first year, where we were asked to create an avant-garde outfit inspired by a fully technological future. I created my own fabric by sandwiching layers of coloured satin between glitter tulle and then dipping the entire construction in glue. This process formed stiff, fin-like structures which I erected side by side to build a sculptural, futuristic mini dress.
This look was also also selected in Fedisa’s Top 10 garments and featured in the school’s end-of-year showcase video.
